Enlisted at Haynesville, ME at age 18 Feb 19, 1862 as a private into Co H 1^st Maine Cavalry. Wounded June 17, 1863 at Aldie, VA.  Listed  as POW battle of Gaines Cross Roads, VA. Oct 12, 1863.   Andersonville prison records record he was captured March 1, 1864 at Dahlgren’s Raid, VA. Died as POW at prison, date not stated. Buried Andersonville Nat’l Cemetery Sumter County, GA. In UNKNOWN grave. FAG #113697101.

Allen, Corp John O.-  Son of Hiram and Lucy Hurd Allen.  Born  1844 Lowell. Enl age 20 in Lowell Dec 11, 1861 as a Pvt into Co F 14^th Maine Infantry Regiment. Promoted Corporal in 1862.  Discharged for disability in 1863. Sept 1, 1863 he was drafted into Co C 16^th Maine Infantry Regiment.  He died of disease April 22, 1865 at US General Hospital Ft Monroe, VA. He is buried at Hampton National Cemetery, Hampton, VA. Bowden, Pvt Edward-Husband of Eliza F. Enlisted Dec 11, 1861 in Lowell at age 32 as a Pvt into Co F 14^th Maine Infantry Regiment.  He died of disease Nov 26, 1862 at New Orleans, LA.  He is buried Chalmette National Cemetery, Chalmette, LA. SEC 100 GRAVE 8278. FAG #113699531.

Brown, Pvt Samuel Jr.-Enl in Lowell at age 18 Dec 15, 1861 as a Private into Co B 6^th Maine Infantry Regiment. Listed absent/sick Aug 25, 1862 place not stated.  Transferred out and into 1^st Maine Heavy Artillery Aug 15, 1864, date and method of discharge not given.  Believed to have died from disease at Military Asylum, Washington, DC Nov 14, 1862.  Buried US Soldiers and Airmens Home national Cemetery Site F Grave 885. FAG #32236310.

Buck, Pvt Thomas J. Jr- Son of Thomas J and Drusilla Buck.  Enlisted Sept 23, 1861 at age 23 as a private into Co D 10^th Maine Infantry Regiment.  Transferred to Co D 29^th Maine Infantry Regiment. Deserted June 30, 1862.  Buried Tannery Cemetery Lowell. FAG #92859568.

Clark, Pvt Issac W Jr. Enl Lowell Dec 11, 1861 at age 24 as a private into Co F 14^th Maine Infantry Regiment.  He re-enlisted into Co A, same regiment, Jan 1, 1864.  He was mustered out Aug 28, 1865.  No further info.

Coffin, Pvt Stephen- husband of Susan L Lord.  Enlisted in Old Town at age 45 Dec 9, 1861 as a private into Co D 13^th Maine Infantry Regiment.  He died in the hospital in 1862 in LA.  He is buried at Chalmette National Cemetery, LA FAG#13576650.  Also memorial marker at Lowell Tannery cemetery FAG #95458090.

Costigan, Pvt Charles W.- Husband of Rhoda Davis.  Enl. Lowell at age 45 Jan 25, 1862 as a Pvt into Co F 14^th Maine Infantry Regiment.  He died of disease Dec 27, 1863, place not stated.  He is buried in Oak Grove Cemetery, Bangor, ME. FAG #36948756.

Costigan, Corp Daniel D.- Son of Charles and Rhoda Davis Costigan. b. Burlington March 28, 1837.  Daniel enl in Lowell at age 24 as a Pvt into Co F 14^th Maine Infantry Regiment.  He re-enlisted Jan 1, 1864 and was promoted Corporal.  He was killed at the battle of Cedar Creek, VA Oct 19, 1864.  He is buried in Oak Grove Cemetery, Bangor, ME.  FAG#36948734.

Crocker, Pvt Elbridge P.- son of Avry and Diantha Ireland Crocker.  Enl/drafted at age 23 in Lowell into Co E 16^th Maine Infantry.  Listed as POW, place/dt not stated, paroled 1864.  Transferred out and into Co E 20^th Maine Infantry Regiment Dec 15, 1864.  Discharged June 30, 1865.  Buried North Chester cemetery, Chester, ME. On Sept 16, 1863 he was transferred into Co G 1^st Maine Heavy Artillery.  Mustered out Sept 1, 1866.  Drafted Bangor Sept 16, 1863 as a private into Co g 19^th Maine Infantry Regiment.  Transferred to Co G 1^st Maine heavy Artillery Dec 15, 1864.  Buried (John L. Darling, Pvt Lemuel H.- Son of Getchel and Susan Hill Darling. Husband of Nancy E Philbrook. Enl Lowell at age 29 into Co E 6^th Maine Infantry Regiment.  Discharged for disability Apr 7, 1863. Buried West End cemetery, Lowell, ME SEC 2 Lot 15. FAG #47216265.

Davis, Pvt William C.- Husband of Margaret Lord.  Enlisted at age 33 Aug 2, 1862 in Lowell into Co A 18^th Maine Infantry Regiment.  Transferred out and into Co A 1^st Maine heavy Artillery on Dec 19, 1862.  Discharged for disability Jan 21, 1864.  He died in Kingman, ME July 1889. Burial place not known at this time.   FAG #114402137.

Fernald, Pvt Hercules S.- Son of Samuel and Acksa (Acsha) J. Fernald.  Enlisted at age 18 in Lowell Oct 4, 1861 as a private into Co D 10^th Maine Infantry regiment.  He died of typhoid fever at Relay House, MD.  Burial unknown. FAG #114404264. There is a marker for him in Passadumkeag Village Cemetery.

Fogg, Pvt Asa- Husband of Rosilla Bowden.  Son of Jonathan and Phebe waterhouse Fogg.  Enlisted in Lowell at age 32 Dec 11, 1861 as a private into Co F 14^th Maine Infantry Regiment.  He died in LA. Nov 5, 1862.  He is buried at Chalmette National Cemetery,  Chalmette, St Bernard Parish, La.  Plot 105 Grave 8628.  FAG #32489409.

Fogg, Pvt Charles M.- enlisted Lowell at age 18 Oct 19, 1861 as a private into Co D 11^th Maine Infantry Regiment.  He died at Beaufort, SC May 15, 1863. Buried Beaufort National Cemetery Beaufort, SC. FAG #113983443.

Given, Pvt Arthur N.- Son of Ebenezer and Jane A Mcllroy Given. Husband of Martha Ann McPhetres.  Arthur enlisted in Lowell at age 26 Jan. 25, 1862 as a private into Co F 14 Maine Infantry Regiment. He was discharged at New Orleans, LA June 7, 1862.  He was buried at Lawnvale Cemetery, Old Town, Maine. FAG #103967859.

Grant, 2^nd Lieut Joseph W. Grant-  Son of Moses and Margaret (Mary) Ann Bowden Grant.  Husband of Rachael Ann Glidden.  Enlisted Lowell Dec 11, 1861 at age 24 as a Corporal into Co F 14^th Maine Infantry Regiment. Promoted Sergeant 1862. Promoted 1^st Sergeant 1863. Re-enlisted Jan 1, 1864.  Transferred from Co F to Co A 1865.  Promoted 2^nd Lieut 1865.  Mustered out Aug 28, 1865.  Buried Mt Hope Cemetery, Bangor, ME. FAG #91581224.

Harvey,Pvt  Willis (William) P.- Enlisted Lowell at age 23 Oct 10, 1864 as a private into Co A 2^nd Maine Cavalry.  Discharged oct 9, 1865.  Also, enlisted in Bangor at age 21 July 4, 1861 as a private into Co A 2^nd Maine Infantry Regiment. Hathaway, Pvt James A.-Son of Joshua and Sarah R Phillips Hathaway.  Wife of Susan J. Hathaway.  Enlisted in Lowell at age 33 as a private Aug 21, 1862 into Co I 18^th Maine Infantry Regiment.  Transferred Dec 19, 1862 into Co I 1^st Maine Heavy Artillery.  Wounded May 19, 1864 at battle of Spotsylvania Courthouse, VA.  Killed June 18, 1864 at battle of Petersburg,VA.  Buried Poplar Grove National Cemetery Petersburg, VA. Henderson, Pvt Charles W- husband of Sophronia G Lord of Lowell.  Charles enlisted at age 27 Dec 11, 1861 into Co F 14^th Maine Infantry Regiment.  He re-enlisted Jan 1, 1864 into Co A same regiment.  He was mustered out Aug 28, 1865.  He is buried in Evergreen Cemetery Milo, ME. FAG #45608239.

Hill, Pvt Wilson- Enlisted at age 32 March 2, 1865 into Co K 12^th Maine Infantry Regiment.  He died of disease Aug 19, 1865.  He is buried at Andersonville National Cemetery Andersonville, GA.  FAG #51137526.

Hogan, Pvt Israel L.-Son of Sylvanus and Jane M. Lord Hogan.  Enlisted at age 33 Sept. 7, 1861 in Greenfield as a private into Co K 8^th Maine Infantry Regiment.  He was killed at the Battle of Cold Harbor June 3, 1864.  Buried Cold Harbor Nat’l Cemetery Mechanicsville, VA.  FAG #113985572.

Kimball, Pvt Abraham T.-Husband of Mary J Kimball.  Enlisted    at age 41 in Lowell as a private into Co F 14^th Maine Infantry Regiment.  Died Oct 12, 1862 in  Carrollton, LA.  Buried Chalmette Nat’l  Cemetery Chalmette, LA. FAG #115873997.

McLain, Pvt Simon- Son of Luther and Belinda Pribble McLain.  Enlisted Lowell at age 26 Nov 2, 1861 as a private into Co D 2^nd US Sharpshooters.  Re-enlisted Dec 25, 1863. Severely wounded in left forearm Sept 20, 1864 at battle of Petersburg, VA. Discharged for disability Feb 11, 1865. Also had service in Co G 17^th Maine Infantry Regiment and Co G 1^st Maine Heavy Artillery. Died in Lowell Feb 19, 1867.  Buried at Plantation 1 Cemetery  Summit Plantation formerly called Deanfield and Plantation 1 North Division Bingham Purchase. FAG #116074413.

McPheters (McPhetres). Pvt John V. Son of  Warren and Mary Coan McPhetres.  Enlisted Lowell at age 18 Oct 19, 1861 as a private into Co D 11^th Maine  Infantry Regiment.  He was killed June 2, 1862 at the battle of Bottom’s Bridge VA.  Buried  Seven Pines nat’l Cemetery, Richmond, VA. Shorey, Pvt Horace F.- Son of John and Mary Sibley Shorey.  Enlisted in Springfield, Me at age 21  May 28, 1861, as a private into Co G  2^nd Maine Infantry Regiment.  He died of diphtheria at a military hospital in Philadelphia, PA March 22, 1862.  He is buried at Woodlands Cemetery Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, PA.  FAG #115822792.

Leary, filed in Lagrange and again in CA in 1913.  Personal research suggests that this is Alonzo Cummings.  Enlisted Lowell at age 26 as a private.  Date not listed. On Sept 16, 1863 he was transferred into Co G 1^st Maine Heavy Artillery.  Mustered out Sept 1, 1866.  Also had service in the 19^th Maine.  He was drafted Bangor (along with his brother Charles L.) Sept 16, 1863 as a private into Co G 19^th Maine Infantry regiment.  Transferred out and into Co G 1^st ME heavy Artillery Dec 15, 1864.  Buried Lowell Tannery Cemetery.  FAG #92913898.
